During H1'24, Buru Energy, through its subsidiary 2H Resources, advanced its natural hydrogen and helium development initiatives. Key progress was made in South Australia, where 2H Resources secured the preferred applicant status for seven Petroleum Exploration Licences and two Gas Storage Exploration Licences. An independent resource estimate from RISC Advisory highlighted significant hydrogen potential, reinforcing the value of these exploration areas. In Western Australia, six Special Prospecting Authorities with Acreage Option applications were lodged, aimed at exploring hydrogen-rich areas, following extensive geological research. There are several players operating in these regions including Gold Hydrogen, H2EX, and Central Petroleum.
