D3 Energy completed its flow testing programme of the RBD03 well at ER315 in South Africa, averaging a stabilised raw gas flow rate of 147mcf/d over a 16-day period and confirming a 5.1% helium concentration, which implies 2.7mmcf/year helium production for very low cost wells. Using newly deployed, accurate metering equipment, the recorded flow rate is nearly double the previous results. Gas analysis also confirmed methane concentrations of 87%, which will be monetised into the local market at attractive pricing. The success of this test supports the potential of ER315 as a major onshore gas field in South Africa. D3 Energy plans to re-test RBD10 with the new equipment, anticipating similar improvements, as part of a broader testing programme aimed at optimising future drilling and production efforts.
