Although asphalt density measurement is unlikely to be a significant market for helium it demonstrates yet another area of niche demand for the product. The accurate measurement of asphalt density plays a crucial role in ensuring the performance and quality of pavement construction. Traditional methods can be labour-intensive and time-consuming, with potential accuracy issues. However, the BetterPyc 380, based on the gas displacement method and utilising helium as the gas, provides a hands-free solution for measuring asphalt density with enhanced precision. By employing a temperature control system, the BetterPyc 380 offers reliable and efficient measurements, reducing the impact of temperature variations on asphalt volume. The results obtained with the BetterPyc 380 demonstrate excellent repeatability and increased accuracy, enabling improved pavement performance through the precise determination of asphalt density.
