In another natural hydrogen discovery, scientists have uncovered a H2 gas deposit in Albania. Led by Laurent Truche of the University of Grenoble Alpes, researchers investigated a chromite mine in Bulqizë, revealing a significant pool of hydrogen-rich water nearly 1km beneath the surface. Analysis showed the gas to be over 80% hydrogen, with smaller methane and nitrogen components. The discovery is estimated to hold 5,000-50,000 tonnes (~2-20 bcf) of natural hydrogen is considered quite small. To put this into perspective, FDE's natural hydrogen discovery (the only other one in Europe), is estimated to hold 19.5 tcf of H2.
