The Petroleum Recovery Research Center at New Mexico Tech, in collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratory, was awarded US$1.3mm by the US Department of Energy’s ARPA-E for the GeoHydRA project, aiming to advance low-cost, low-emissions hydrogen production through geochemical stimulation of mineral deposits. This innovative project focuses on enhancing hydrogen production from olivine ultramafic rocks, utilising laboratory experiments and numerical modelling to develop methods that sustain production rates.
